Positive: The view from the first floor was magnificent, the matress was top quality and the the place was spotless clean.
Negative: * Sound proofing. The room where we stayed was part of a private home and was connected with the other guest rooms with doors that simply....locked. We could hear every whisper from the neighbors. I guess that same principle applied to them too. *Heating. You can't heat a room in the middle of winter with simply an aircondition split type unit. It's ineffective, unsustainable and noisy. On top of that as soon as we left the room, it was turned off. As a result, when we returned in the evening it was not warm. The room was equiped with radiators. We were told not to operate them. *Insulation. As mentioned above the room was connected to the other rooms of the property with two doors. Unfortunatelly there was a constant cold draft from underneath them. Especially the one closer to the bed. *Last but not least, odor. It was not mold or poor hygiene. It was (best guess) the result of low water level in the bathroom's siphon(s). The room was probably closed for some time and the water had evaporated thus inadequatelly blocking the odors from the sewage system. No matter how we aired the room the smell was light but persistent throughout our stay.
Summary: Overall, mixed impressions. Too be fair with the host, we never reported any of the above issues.
